My pet recently had to be placed to sleep due to poor health and old age. His condition had been stable, but deteriorated quite rapidly following a sudden injury of my husband, which he was next to when it occurred. My husband passed away days later, leaving our pet in a turmoil of sadness. Our veterinary clinic was unavailable to provide my dog any services on the day he went into decline, so they referred us to the University. I can’t say enough about the amazing care they provided to our pet, Diego, on his last moments with us. He was treated with so much love and compassion. Our family was treated with so much kindness and compassion also. Each member of their team was amazing. They went above and beyond to make our pet have a peaceful transition from this world. They also allowed us the time to spend with him and say our final goodbyes in a private room. They treated Diego with special treats and affection that helped him feel at ease. It was also very nice to have someone go over the family’s last wishes. We were able to select a beautiful package that included keepsakes of our little guy to cherish forever. Diego was a part of our family for almost 14 years. He was a gentle soul. My granddaughter named him after the cartoon character, “Dora the Explorer”. He was family. I can’t say thank you enough for the wonderful care and love your entire team of doctors and staff gave to our pet. It was above anything I could ever imagine. Our family is so grateful to you all. We also thank you for all the kindness and support you gave to us throughout that time. You all are amazing! The Mays Family & Diego’s entire extended family 🐾
